Sketchbook Assignments - List 2

Due Date Media Assignment
Use Pencil Draw a clock.  Shading should be done using a combination of cross-hatch, blending and contoured textures.  Show the light reflected from the surfaces.
Use Pencil Draw a household object which reflects your personality.  Then add your personality to the drawing.  The object should have personification.
Multi Draw a houseplant in pencil.  Create shadow and light values by using complementary colors.
Use Ink Draw the wrapper from a candy bar.  Show details and a background.  There should be a minimum of three values and or textures.  Give the wrapper character by compressing it into a ball and then unfolding the wrapper.
4/14 Use Pencil Draw a set of keys on a key-ring.  Draw each key as you see it, not as you think it should look.  Be attentive to the various angles at which the keys lay.  Draw large.
4/21 Use Pencil Draw two detailed portraits of your hand.  There should be definite highlights and shadows.  One of the drawings should have a rough quick feel.  The other should be smooth and finished in appearance.
4/29 Use Ink Draw the outlines of a still life ( a group of arranged objects) lightly in pencil.  Build up value by cross-hatching in ink.  When done, erase the pencil lines.
5/5 Use Pencil Draw your crossed feet.  Be accurate.  Do not draw mechanically (i.e. your shoe laces each have their own shape, position, light and shadow.)  If drawing without shoes, each toe or toenail is different.  Look for detail.

All Sketchbook Assignments require the following:
1. Draw large enough to fill the work space.  There should be little white unless called for by the
assignment.
2. Show plenty of detail and all appropriate shading.
3. This is homework!  Do it at home!  It should take a MINIMUM of ONE (1) HOUR.
