Alleman High School - Sacramental/Devotional Life
Academics: Religion: Scramental/Devotional Life:

Part of the religious education of Alleman High School students is a growing awareness and appreciation of the sacramental and devotional life of the Catholic Church. As such, a variety of sacramental liturgies and devotional practices are held at Alleman High School.

Mass is celebrated daily at 7:25 a.m. in the school chapel, which is open to all students to participate in. Mass is also celebrated at least once a month on a school-wide basis, when the whole school community gathers together to praise and worship God.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held on the first Friday of each month throughout the whole school day, offering students the chance to pray before Jesus present in the Eucharist.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered three times each week during the students’ lunch periods, while a communal, all-school reconciliation day is also provided for the students each semester (once during Advent, once during Lent) in which priests of the surrounding parishes come in to Alleman High School to hear confessions.

Prayer is central to the life of Alleman High School. Each morning, the day is opened with prayers over the PA system; each class period begins with prayer as well. During their religion periods, classes periodically will spend time in the chapel to develop prayer skills in students. During the months of October and May, the Rosary is prayed communally to honor the Mother of God, and other devotional practices like the Stations of the Cross are held periodically.
