From the Athletic Director…

The 2006-07 athletic year for Alleman had many top-shelf performances for individuals and teams. Some highlights include – Football’s 4^th straight Western Big Six title; Andrew Briones earning 1^st team All-State honors in Football; Samantha Good’s State qualifying performance in Girls Tennis; the Boys Golf team advanced to the Sectional Tournament; Ryan Hinzman advancing to the Class AA State Wrestling Meet; Girls Basketball winning a first ever Class AA Regional title; Amanda Clifton being selected 3^rd Team IBCA All-State in Girls Basketball; Megan Manning’s All-State performance placing 2^nd in the Shot Put and 10^th in Discus; the Girl’s Track 4x800 relay team (Kelly Layer, Caitlin Bull, Mary Ludin & Kathleen Hogan) winning the WB6, breaking the school record and advancing to State; and, Softball winning a Class AA Regional title. In addition, we had numerous Alleman student-athletes who earned Academic All-Conference and State level honors. 

Those close to Alleman know that we strongly encourage our students to participate in a variety of activities during their high school career – this includes athletics. We all consider the athletic experience one important part of our students overall development and so we are proud that upwards of 68% of our student body participate in interscholastic athletics. The foundations of our athletic programs are hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership. We hope that along the way our students will realize and maybe exceed their athletic ability while learning important values that will sustain them the rest of their lives.

As you attend our many sporting events this year lets all remember to display good sportsmanship. Showing respect for those around you, coaches, officials and players will always be expected and appreciated.

My goal as Athletic Director is to work hard to help us achieve a high level of athletic success and to always maintain proper perspective that a student-athlete is a student first and athletic second. Our overall aspiration will be to help and nurture our young people to achieve success in all facets of their high school life.

I’m sure it will be another great year to be a Pioneer!
