Alumni Notes: Theresa Requet Riley ‘74

“My mother Mary (Crossman) Requet was a ‘52 Alleman graduate as were her six siblings. This led to me and my five siblings and some 60 cousins, nieces and nephews, and extended family graduating from Alleman. My dad Richard (Dick) Requet ran the Alleman cafeteria for several years. After graduation, I attended Black Hawk and Augustana graduating in ‘78. I was immediately hired at Alleman by Fr. VanWiel to teach Physical Education and Mathematics, as well as coach tennis, basketball, and softball. During my tenure (‘78-’84) I made many great friends among the faculty and staff, and enjoyed the students and athletes. After leaving Alleman I went to work for the Dept. of Defense as a logistician and retired after 30 years. After retirement I became a sub teacher at Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools. My siblings and I continue to support Alleman in many ways including financial donations and the custom T-Shirt quilts I donate annually to the Heritage Ball silent auction. Our family will continue to support Alleman because we value our Catholic education and we all want Alleman to thrive for future generations to come!”
