Lazarus Fund 2022

Dear Alleman Alumni:

I‘m writing to you as an alumni of the class of 1961, and I have a message for you: AHS needs your help! In the past, there were some difficult years for the school, having lost valued administrative staff, instructors, clerical support personnel, and most importantly student enrollment.  But now, we are in an exciting new springtime of renewal and rebuilding.

Each of us had the experience of an excellent Catholic school education centered on belief, intellectual growth, and character, which has helped to define our lives, so let us secure that experience for future generations of aspiring students by actively funding AHS for now and continuing into the future.

How will we do this? We will establish a funding mechanism and call it “The Lazarus Fund”, in union with the miraculous raising of Lazarus from the dead by Jesus. This fund will be dedicated to developing necessary staffing (administrative, educators, clerical, coaches), daily operational expenses, and the addition of a specialized, incentivized recruiter whose sole responsibility will be to increase enrollment.  Initial funding of The Lazarus Fund will begin in May, the middle of spring; a time of renewal, resurgence, and revitalization.

Please dig deep when considering how much is affordable to sustain AHS. Perhaps calculate your costs for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney, Paramount, Peacock, et al for personal entertainment and match that outgo to keep a worthwhile institution viable. Your personal reward is simply satisfaction for doing the right thing. You’ll also have the gratitude of all who work, pray, and study at Alleman. To make your donation simply fill out the form on this page or mail your contribution directly to: Alleman Catholic High School (Lazarus Fund), 1103 40th Street, Rock Island, Illinois 61201.

I pledge to the alumni and the school that I will match all contributions collected from the alumni in the month of May 2022 for whatever amount, without stipulation.

Thank you and God bless you,

Jerry Horton
