Alleman High School and the Quad Cities music and band community, mourns the loss of beloved former band director Max Grigsby ’54, who passed away on June 11, 2026 at the age of 89. 

For more than four decades, Pat Lootens ’74 has been a fixture on the sidelines, in the gymnasium, and in the lives of countless student-athletes throughout the Quad Cities.

Alleman has ushered in a new era for its basketball programs by naming Pat Rangel as the Head Boys  Basketball Coach and Carie Walker as the Head Girls Basketball Coach. 

The Alleman High School girls’ soccer team made history in this season by capturing the Western Big 6 Conference Championship for the very first time in program history. 

Seniors Adam VanMeighem, Garret Myers, Marcella Healy, Claire Mehochko, Caden Jenulis, and Benjamin DeMarlie were named Illinois State Scholars for the 2025-2026 academic year. This prestigious honor recognizes graduating seniors with outstanding academic achievement!

A member of our Pioneer family, Tori Thomas, is destined for great heights. From her days setting records on the Alleman track to her dominant collegiate career at the University of Illinois, Tori has consistently pushed the boundaries of the pole vault. Now, as a post-collegiate athlete, she has officially shifted her focus to the world stage: the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Our ICTM Math team performed strongly at the state competition in mid-April. Following a first-place finish at regionals, the team placed 18th out of 64 in the 1A division.

Over the past two years, the Alleman Athletic Complex has undergone a series of renovations designed to enhance the experience for Pioneer student-athletes and fans. These improvements were made possible through the generosity of alumni, families, and local businesses who continue to support Alleman athletics. 

The Alleman Math Team delivered an extraordinary performance at Regionals, earning 1st Place Overall for the 7th consecutive year, a testament to the hard work, discipline, and determination of these outstanding Pioneers. 

Congratulations to Theresa Hoffman who won the State Level of the Knights of Columbus Essay Contest for the 10th grade. 

Generosity is essential to our mission of developing young men and women of faith and character. We are deeply grateful to donors and their families who just recently establish new, named scholarships in memory of their loved one, ensuring a Catholic education remains accessible for all families. These scholarships are a permanent testament to their legacy and a connection to the students who follow in their footsteps. 

Five of our Alleman students attended the SEEK Catholic Conference in Columbus, Ohio, in January with Fr. Martini and Sr. Teresa.
