Alunni Notes: Mary (Barnes) Goumas ‘90

Mary currently lives in Mount Prospect, Illinois, with her husband Matt and daughters Madelyn and Megan. For the past 22 years, she’s been teaching fifth grade in Arlington Heights, while Matt works as a UPS driver.

This fall marks an exciting milestone for the family as Madelyn begins her studies at the University of Washington, and Megan heads to Miami University in Ohio. In her free time, Mary enjoys staying active through walking, running, and weightlifting, as well as indulging in a good book. Alongside fellow alum, Pat Thorpe, Mary is excited to help plan their 35th class reunion this year!

She shared that their small class has fostered a true sense of family, and she’s eager to maintain the important connections established at Alleman — bonds that continue to support and uplift one another to this day.
